Los Angeles, CA – The Struts are currently on tour with fellow classic rock revivalists Dirty Honey, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their debut album Everybody Wants. To mark the milestone, the band is performing the record in its entirety, peppered with a few fan favorites for good measure.
Local rockers Dirty Honey kicked off the night with their swaggering opener “Gypsy,” followed by their hometown anthem “California Dreamin’.” Their set was packed with high-energy tracks from start to finish, featuring blistering guitar work from John Notto and the magnetic stage presence of frontman Marc Labelle. At one point, Labelle grabbed a folding chair and sang from the center of the venue, surrounded by an electrified crowd — a fitting display of the band’s unfiltered, hometown rock ‘n’ roll spirit.
The Struts followed with their signature glam-rock flamboyant flair. frontman Luke Spiller electrified the packed house with his magnetic charisma, while guitarist Adam Slack delivered blistering licks and soulful solos. Bassist Jed Elliott anchored the groove with swagger and precision, locking in with drummer Gethin Davies, whose technical finesse from atop his drum riser gave the band a rock-solid foundation. Together, they created a tight, full sound bolstered by strong vocal harmonies.
The night opened with a bang as the crowd roared to “Primadonna Like Me.” Highlights included a bluesy, expressive solo from Slack, a stripped-down “Mary Go Round” complete with audience participation, and an intimate acoustic rendition of “Young Stars.”
Ten years on from their debut, The Struts continue to deliver the kind of larger-than-life showmanship that first won them attention. If this performance was any indication, their mix of glam swagger and classic rock grit still has plenty of mileage left.
