JoJo released her self-titled debut album, which included the hit single "Leave (Get Out)." This song made her the youngest solo artist to top the U.S. Billboard Top 40 chart. That was in 2004. Fast forward to 2025 and much has happened since. Another major hit, "Too Little Too Late" reached the top five. Her third album was delayed as JoJo was in a legal battle with Blackground Records and eventually was allowed to leave the label.
JoJo continued to create music, perform and persevere navigating the roadblocks in the music industry. To reclaim her artistry and connect with her fans she took the step of independently releasing mixed tapes. In addition, she re-recorded her first two albums in 2018 and made it available for streaming.
JoJo's latest project is her EP titled "NGL" (Not Gonna Lie), released on January 25, 2025. It features tracks like "Porcelain" and "Too Much to Say", showcasing her emotional depth and vocal prowess. This EP follows her 2021 release, "Trying Not to Think About It", which included songs like "Worst (I Assume)" and "Dissolve". She blends R&B and Pop effortlessly.
With powerful vocals, warmth and talent JoJo was well received and respected by the fans at her concert here at Soma in San Diego. I am sure it will be just as good at each tour stop.
