Dirty Honey Tour stop in San Diego, California

My introduction to the band Dirty Honey was in August of 2021 when they opened for the Black Crowes at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, Ca. I was photographing that night for DoSD and to my surprise I had no idea how first-rate they were.

This is one impressive group of young musicians with singer Marc LaBelle belting out tunes with ease, riveting guitarist John Notto leading the way, bassist Justin Smolian inspired sound, and Jaydon Bean working the drums.

Marc Labelle has an incredible stage presence, especially when he jumped off stage and visited the crowd extending his mic to them. With that said LaBelle has an impressive vocal range up there with the Rock & Roll greats! Every song was a lesson in how to play great pumped-up music. You could hear Notto chants from the crowd. So amazing to hear both Notto and Smolian perform duets and spotlights, each of which was thoroughly invigorating. Of course, the crowd loved their signature song California Dreamin' performed to perfection, but then every song was sensational!

Dirty Honey has brought a renewed appreciation of Rock, a shot in the arm that is much needed.
