On a beautiful San Diego fall night, the multi-Platinum icons Styx played to a Sold-Out crowd. Humphreys was the perfect venue for the always on point rockers.
Through the years Styx have proved to be ever present, and in the moment with their audience pleasing performances. You can feel that they love what they do and have maintained a high professional standard. With leader Tommy Shaw, the band has continually grown with their strong classics "Lady", that always has the audience singing along and cheering as it did on this night, "Blue Collar Man", "The Grand Illusion" and the list goes on and on. The opening number was "To Those" from the 2021 release of their 17th studio album "Crash of the Crown". Styx has 50 plus years under their belt and still going strong.
The band members are Tommy Shaw (Lead vocals/ guitar), James "JY" Young (Lead vocals/ guitar), Lawrence Gowan (Lead vocals/keyboard) Chuck Panozzo (bass guitar), Todd Sucherman, (drums), and Will Evankovich (vocals/guitar). The band played with enthusiasm and dedication, commanding the stage from the first song.
Styx played their songs just like they were originally recorded, crisp and rocking. They did not disappoint. They never do!
