THE CURE ON TOUR.

On this night The Cure took the crowd on a 44-year musical journey back in time at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater. The band, now composed of founder Robert Smith, Simon Gallup on bass, Perry Bamonte on guitar and keyboards, Jason Cooper on drums, Reeve Gabrels on guitar, and Roger O'Donnell on keyboards, played 29 songs out of their vast catalogue of music that took the crowd on a sonic roller coaster ride of emotion all the way back to 1979. From the opening set when they played "Pictures of You", to the song "Forest" in second set and ending on the last song of the night with "Boys Don't Cry", the band invited the willing crowd into a sonic space where everyone could feel safe enough to release their emotions. The unique voice of Robert Smith created an emotional bond with the crowd as he danced and played on the stage like a shaman performing a healing ritual. Maybe shared live music can be truly healing for in the end the crowd on this night responded by standing and enthusiastically clapping and cheering until the collective emotions of the crowd finally exploded into deafening applause.

The Cure is still on tour.
