Flogging Molly Tour Stop in Chula Vista, California
Flogging Molly along with The Interrupters, Tiger Army, and The Skints brought their tour to the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista on Friday night, and it was a party. After great opening sets by The Skints and Tiger Army, The Interrupters took the stage and put on a rousing performance. The ska-punk band really put on a stellar show with Aimee Interrupter sounding fantastic, she also used the whole stage to her advantage while bassist Justin Bivona, and guitarist Kevin Bivona bounced, jumped and stalked the stage behind her. This was a high energy set that the audience really loved. There were times when the singing from the crowd was nearly louder than the band, an impressive feat.
Flogging Molly took the stage and reminded us all again what a great band they are. Front man Dave King sounded great and ran around the stage like a man possessed.
It had been a few years since I had seen Flogging Molly and they were even better than I remember. The audience was great and what was really noticeable was that there were entire families there for the fun, little kids, teenagers, and adults all singing together and having a good time.
