THE VENTURES: STARS ON GUITARS MUSIC Documentary

THE VENTURES:
STARS ON GUITARS

Reel cool.

Hello, Music Lovers!

The last time I checked in with you, The Ventures: Stars on Guitars music documentary was on its way to its first screening of many. But along came a virus, which of course quashed the big film festival run. We did win “Best Documentary” at the one pre-pandemic film festival, but after that I had to resort to Plan B.

Although I am sad to have missed out on showing the movie to audiences all over the U.S. and the world, and meeting fans of The Ventures in person, I am happy to report that I found a distributor.

That means most of you will be able to see The Ventures: Stars on Guitars streaming (or buy a DVD) in December of this year. Better details coming soon – to that end, I created a website for updates and fun: TheVenturesDocumentary.com

Thanks for tuning in,
Staci Layne Wilson

GRAMMY glory.

The Ventures enjoyed the glory of the GRAMMY Museum’s “Ventures: 60 Years of Walk, Don’t Run” exhibit. This event was spearheaded by Del Breckenfeld and Jeff “Skunk” Baxter. Sadly, the awesome display was closed to the public shortly after, thanks to the pandemic. You can see photos on our Instagram page, though: @TheVenturesMovie

Deserved recognition.

On January 18, 2020 Don Wilson of The Ventures received a Lifetime Achievement “Music For Life” Award at the NAMM Show Tech Awards. The trophy was presented by his longtime friend Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (who is an interviewee in our documentary). Before the award was given, Jeff played Walk, Don’t Run onstage with Steve Luthaker and Elliott Easton.

He’s got your vote.

Don Wilson is now a voting member of the GRAMMYs. Very few people are chosen for this honor. Congrats, Don!

We still have posters!

We have a few of our movie posters on hand for sale. A few left in all three sizes. We'll probably order more closer to the release date, but it's always good to get while the getting's good!
