"Sydney teens’ debut release shows makings of a psych giant"
NME ★★★★

"a phenomenal blend of modern sensibilities and classic experimental pop"

"...a mesmerizing blend of simplistic yet well-crafted pop ideas and fascinating left turns. The bass is dirty and distorted, the vocals sugary and multi-layered."

DIY Magazine

"fantastic...an emerging Aussie band you need to know"
Matt Wilkinson, Beats 1

“'Tangerine' is a certifiable jam that balances melody, songwriting, and a lo-fi aesthetic.”

“the four-piece showcases an innate understanding of elegant songwriting that packs an emotional punch.”
Brightest Young Things

Sydney four-piece The Lazy Eyes today release their debut EP, EP1. Listen to all three vintage-inspired, playful tracks packed with blistering guitar solos and prismatic psychedelia HERE

With their first two singles, “
Cheesy Love Song,” a dreamy, patiently unspooling piece of psychedelia, and “Tangerine,” a kaleidoscopic pop blur climaxing in a searing guitar solo, the young band showed off divergent sides to their sound. Today with the last song to complete the set, “The Seaside,” they take the adroit musicality of their previous singles and stretch them out to a sprawling, luxuriant, seven-minute journey. Replete with constantly shifting instrumentation, slippery guitar tones, and the dream-logic structure of Brian Wilson’s most adventurous excursions.

The Lazy Eyes - "The Seaside" (Visualizer)

Of the track, the band says, “The Seaside is a nostalgic song for us because it’s amongst the earliest songs that we explored as a band. It was around this time that we were really getting into guitar pedals too and trying to make as full and as exciting a sound we could in a live setting.”

The release of their debut EP today caps off an impressive opening half of the year for The Lazy Eyes, earning worldwide praise for their first released tracks from Beats 1DIY MagNMEAlt CitizenBrightest Young ThingsThe Line of Best Fiti-Dtriple j and more. Eager to get back on stage, the band is reorganizing their international debuts as soon as possible, having had to cancel appearances at SXSW and The Great Escape earlier this spring.

Stay tuned for more music & news coming soon from The Lazy Eyes this year.
