BILLY RAY CYRUSā€™ NEW EP
THE SINGINā€™ HILLS SESSIONS VOL. 1 SUNSET

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 31, 2020) ā€“ Two-time 2020 GRAMMYĀ® winner Billy Ray Cyrus released his new EP, The Singin' Hills Sessions Vol. 1 Sunset, via BMG/BBR Music Group, today. Following his record-shattering year, the collection of songs embodies Cyrusā€™ passion for storytelling, including the focus track, ā€œI amā€¦I Said,ā€ a Neil Diamond-penned and recorded classic. Earlier this week, Cyrus dedicated a performance of ā€œI amā€¦I Saidā€ to Kobe Bryant and the victims in the helicopter crash on CBSā€™ ā€œThe Talkā€ (click here to watch).

ā€œThank you Neil Diamond for penning this reflective and powerful song. 40 years ago, I attended your concert in Charleston, WV and was inspired to buy a left-handed guitar the next day. Now here we are in this moment,ā€ Cyrus shared.

The Singin' Hills Sessions Vol. 1 Sunset also includes ā€œKilling The Blues,ā€ a Shooter Jennings collaboration, and ā€œShe Always Goes.ā€

In addition to two GRAMMYĀ® wins this week for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video with Lil Nas X, Cyrus also stars in another head-turning collaboration alongside critically acclaimed movie legend, Sam Elliott, in a Doritos' Super Bowl commercial in support of Doritos Cool Ranch - now packed with even more "cool" (click here to watch).

Cyrusā€™ two GRAMMYĀ® wins follow Cyrus and Lil Nas X's wins at the Country Music Association Awards for Musical Event of the Year, two MTV VMA Moonmen for Song of the Year and Best Direction, as well as two trophies at the BET Hip Hop Awards for Best Collab, Duo or Group and Single of the Year.

Not only was ā€œOld Town Road (Billy Ray Cyrus remix)" the first song of 2019 to gain Diamond recognition, it is the first in the RIAAā€™s history to meet the minimum requirement of 10,000,000 units sold so quickly.

Throughout his nearly three decade career, Cyrus has achieved worldwide success as a singer, songwriter, actor and producer. The Flatwoods, KY native exploded onto the music scene when his first album, Some Gave All, debuted on the all-genre Billboard album chart at No. 1 and stayed there for a record-breaking 17 weeks in 1992. The lead single, "Achy Breaky Heart," became a phenomenon as the single went multi-platinum. After "Achy Breaky Heart," Cyrus followed up with back to back hits ā€œIt Couldā€™ve Been Me,ā€ ā€œSheā€™s Not Crying Anymore,ā€ ā€œWher'm I Gonna Live When I Get Home?ā€ and the anthemic ā€œSome Gave All.ā€ Cyrus knocked himself out of the top Billboard position with the his second No. 1 album, It Wonā€™t Be The Last, featuring smash hits ā€œIn the Heart of a Woman,ā€ ā€œWords By Heartā€ and ā€œSomebody New.ā€ Cyrus followed up with dozens more that defined country music. ā€œTo me, my most defining moment in country was being joined by George Jones and Loretta Lynn on my self-penned ā€˜Country Music Has the Blues,ā€™ā€ said Cyrus. He also enjoyed a successful career as an actor in ā€œDocā€ and ā€œStill The King,ā€ as well as the Disney series ā€œHannah Montanaā€ with his daughter Miley. Recently, Cyrus has shattered records with Lil Nas X with the global smash, "Old Town Road," which remained No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 consecutive weeks. Cyrus has achieved every accolade the music industry offers, including two GRAMMYĀ® Awards, two BET Hip Hop Awards, two MTV VMA Moonmen, two Country Music Association Awards, an American Music Award, as well as six Academy of Country Music nominations.
