Tom Keifer 2019 Tour
Tom Keifer at The Coach House
33157 Camino Capistrano,
San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675
August 30, 2019
When Tom Keifer comes to town fans expect to be rocked. On August 30th, at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano Keifer and his band did not disappoint. From the moment the house lights went up and the first chord dropped, the audience was on its feet. This tour is in support of his most recent album "Rise" set to be out in mid September.
The show was an impressive, energetic blend from his time with Cinderella to the present. Keifer's new work is familiar, yet different. The debut song and video off the new album "The Death of Me" has the familiar guitar styling he is known for in addition to some raging blues undertones. It grabs your attention and holds you there. The title song "Rise" is a softer, contemplative, lyrical piece that Keifer took to the keyboards.
Mixed in with the new and familiar, TK drove it home with "Night Songs", "Somebody Save Me" and "Nobody's Fool". The audience favorite "Nobody's Fool" lit up the house. The crowd immediately got up and was singing. Then TK threw the mic out into the audience and let them become part of the band singing along in perfect cadence. TK took back the mic right at the chorus. He then held the longest, highest pitched, tightest note I have ever heard. The crowd went nuts! Keifer's voice is perfection.
The hallmark of any good concert is when the band seamlessly blends the old with the new, the hard with the soft. TK and company achieved all of that and more. Like a fine wine good from the first pressing he has become absolutely brilliant. There are subtle, more settled nuances to his music now, while still hard charging and more evolved with some living behind it. The tour is nothing short of extraordinary.
If you have not been able to see Tom Keifer live before do yourself a favor and go. You'll be glad you did.
