The all-female band, Thunderpussy was the opener for Black Pistol Fire on this night. These ladies know how to rock and put on a show. Thunderpussy is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 2013. The group is composed of vocalist Molly Sides, guitarist Whitney Petty and bassist Leah Julius.

Seattle Weekly named the band 2018’s “Best Musical Act”.  In addition to an amazing rendition of Jefferson Airplane’s Somebody to Love, the band played originals from their self-titled 2018 release. Songs included Speed Queen, Torpedo Love, Velvet Noose, Badlands, and the title cut, Thunderpussy.

After the show no less than 3 different people, total strangers, came up to me and said thing like “That band kicked ass!”. I also overheard comments like that during and after the set as I walked around the club. Thunderpussy is going to be a force to be reckoned with in rock music’s very near future.
