From the moment Bret Michaels runs out onto the stage to a sea of high-five adoring fans you know you are in for some super high energy awesome entertainment.  As with all of Michaels concerts, there is no holding back, strutting and using every bit of the stage, straightforward and sincere in his love of his craft.

Bret Michaels was the solo act on the bill and for good reason. Michaels and the rest of the band, of whom Bret Michaels introduced to the audience easily delivered a 100% rocking experience. The setlist consisted of a mixed bag of tunes, some Poison, and covers. There is something to be said about musicians who love what they do and do it to the fullest. This night at The Belly Up Tavern was no exception.

Michaels broke out his harmonica and played the lead and some during Your "Mama Don't Dance" paying tribute to his father, a Navy vet who taught him how to play. The Butler, Pennsylvania native spoke of the veterans in general and what they mean to him and also about Juvenile Diabetes of which he has had since he was a child.  Also on tap was the ever popular "Every Rose Has it's Thorn", "Talk Dirty to Me"  a  rousing rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd's classic   "Sweet Home Alamaba"  an energizing " Unskinny Bop" then directly into the beautiful "Give Me Something to Believe In".

Following the end of the concert, a charity auction commenced with guitarist Pete Evick and the band auctioning off the t-shirt and two hats Bret Michaels wore during the show. This was the first time Bret Michaels appeared at the Belly Up Tavern. After the reception he received from the sold-out audience  I am would think and hope he will be back again next year.
