Maggie Rose at The House of Blues

The Voodoo Room at The House of Blues in San Diego was the perfect place to enjoy and discover the talent that is Maggie Rose Durante aka Maggie Rose. Although it was not a full house, that did not matter. It only made the concert more intmately appealing. The twenty eight year old Maryland born singer sounded first-rate and looked stunning. The band was also  superb.

Maggie Rose is carving out a place for herself in the country-blues music genre. Her songs are memorable, distinctive and showcase her singer-songwriter, producer talents. She has a genuine, reciprocated rapport with the audience. She performed songs from her well received  2013 debut 10 track album "Cut to Impress" and also threw in several covers. Especially touching was the ballard "Better." Another stand-out was the cool, dark  "Preachers Daughter" as well as the haunting "Love Me More." Maggie Rose says she was influenced by Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert.

She deserves to be taken seriously and included in the top-notch current group of country female singers. This coming August she will be performing her 36th appearance at the Grand Old Opry. Her current tour will be ending October 22.
